For a Maitri Centre to be born in New Zealand, it is important that we have a suitable land solution. While the ideal scenario would be for the charity to purchase it’s own land, this requires significant financial resources, making it a longer-term goal. In the meantime, whilst we continue fundraising, BSDS NZ will keep working on other projects as they come along (outlined in the other posts).
So far, the main project has been the creation of the first Maitri Building, which houses the BSDS NZ altar room and Office. This building has been built temporarily on sangha family land, with their gracious blessing, and has been designed as portable/transportable so that in the future, when the charity is financially able to purchase land, it can be easily relocated.
Establishing a Maitri Centre in New Zealand is one of the main purposes of the BSDS NZ Chapter, as outlined in our Trust Deed, in order to help share the Maitri Dharma. And we are truly humbled, delighted and honoured to embark on this journey of creating a Maitri Centre here in New Zealand. With heartfelt reverence, bowing in infinite surrender, faith & gratitude at the Divine Lotus Feet of Guru Mahasambodhi MaitriNath, we pray that the New Zealand Maitri Centre will evolve beautifully, lovingly and peacefully for the benefit of all beings.
