December 2022 – January 2023
Following the completion of the Maitri building covered deck project (See Project 2), a roof on top of the Maitri building has been built for extra weather protection & to extend the longevity of the building’s life.
The roof will have a slight pitch or angle, which will allow the rain to drain off. This is important because the top of the container is flat, which means that water can pool there and potentially cause damage in the longer term. The roof will also provide extra sun protection in the hotter months.
BSDS NZ is deeply humbled by the love & support received for this project and we are delighted to share the progress that is being made on this project, as well as some photos:
December 2022 – Timber roof framing goes up, followed by building paper and the 5-rib iron sheets.
January 2023 – Roof flashings go up and the roof is now finished!
